Thank you so much for sharing your valuable thoughts, Magdalena. It means a lot to me to read your words. I was late to check my comments so I am seeing what you wrote 7 days after.
I am so sorry for the loss of your boyfriend. I see how it makes you think about the time and energy we spend at work, and how we could give more of that to our loved ones and to activities that matter to us. I also can entirely relate to what you said about the commute, the getting ready for work, and the recovery from work. It might technically be 40 hours, but it ends up feeling like significantly more!
It exacerbated my mental stress after a while when I was working a full-time job. I have this admiration for people who work full-time year after year, knowing how drained I feel in their position. Yet I only want people to do what they feel is actually best for them now and in the long-term, whether that means working a lot, or not.
I wish for you a pleasant path towards having a life where you feel consistently energized. Where you are valued by anyone you work for. Where you have plenty of freedom to learn, read, exercise, do hobbies, and be with everyone who matters to you.
