Thank you Manj! I loved being able to compare notes with you regarding the downside we experienced on our self-improvement journeys. What you said about rumination and “be wary of buying” strongly resonated with me. And what you said about balancing self-improvement with celebrating where you’ve already arrived.

My biggest takeaway is the personality tests! I hadn’t thought about it much before. Journaling helps me compare myself to myself in a healthier way, but personality tests tend to make me feel anxious about how I compare with others. This was an important revelation. I don’t really need to know what 4 Myers-Briggs letters I “am” in order to deeply know myself. I’ll stick with writing and reading others’ writing – it gives me greater insight and a more sustainable peace of mind on my self-improvement path. Thanks for your articles!
