Things would have been different if I'd read articles like this before my first exposure to self-improvement content. :) I'll try to remember the 6-story falling cat study and the misunderstanding about car crash survivors and cancer rates. That should make the survivorship bias memorable. And I now know that the prevalence of "notable" people is about 68 in a million based on Wikipedia.
I try to use "I" language when writing self-improvement, instead of implying that what worked for me should work for "you." However, I think I still conflate correlation with causation sometimes. I must remind myself not to be that centenarian attributing my long healthy life to smoking.
