Thank you for sharing your story, Reverie. :) I really admire you and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

It's also funny that I chose to start my Reverie binge while having lunch. XD It feels like I am sharing a meal with you and I am happy for how you could grow from the past and make your relationships with food and body both positive. <3

Also, when you explained how the obsession took over your mind until literally every. second. thought. was related to it, I completely believed that. I've had issues (definitely not as bad) where I am constantly aware of my hair all day. Reading a story like yours lends validation both to those with eating disorders and other things.

Ugh, and I'm sorry about the way family reacted. :( Good lesson for me to follow up with people if they open up about something big. I don't want to make them uncomfortable but letting it go unacknowledged could do just that—reinforce the shame.

The lesson about cognitive dissonance is also so powerful. And I love the pictures you chose for this article. Can't wait to keep reading.
