Thank you for setting and sharing this example, Sílvia! It was very helpful. Also, the illustrations for this piece looked so neat! They really enhanced the reading experience.

Ever since I picked up speed with writing Medium articles, I've private-journaled less since I often use my articles to fulfill many of the journaling functions you mentioned: unloading what's on my chest, thinking through my goals and character flaws, taking notes, intentionally practicing vulnerability, and meta-reflections.

What I could probably do more of in my writing: describing what's in the present, and freewriting and poetry!

I know that terrifying scary versus the fun/liberating scary you talk about, when you've written something and are deciding whether to publish. Writing publicly been great practice for learning how to listen to and trust my emotions.

Will I be inspired by this guide to start a public journal, separate from my main stream of articles? At this point, I would probably start a new Medium publication to house my journal entries. But with more of a following in the future, maybe I could use Substack and a paywall like you mentioned as a possibility.

I'm not yet sure what the theme of the journal would be, but I really like the idea. I imagine myself planting it like a seed to watch sprout and flower with future clarity.

This comment turned into a bit of a public journal entry. :) Thank you for the inspiration!
