Randy, what a balanced and well-written article. I love how you acknowledged publishers have a write to curate their content, but that it's great for people to know what they're getting into. I understand what you mean about the hate speech. In liberal circles like I come from, you can challenge groups such as whites, men, and straight people a little more. However, strict standards of respectful speech are expected when talking about historically marginalized groups. I'd like to see things become a little more balanced. For example, transgender people like me aren't completely immune from critique, and meanwhile people are a little less harsh towards whites and other categories understood as the more privileged.

I almost didn't want to clap, because I've had good luck with curation. I'm hopeful I can keep up a great relationship with the curators. I love this platform and it's been a dream come true. But I decided I have to stop living in fear of how my every word or action will get interpreted. I generally swing liberal, but I'm having a great time engaging with people of diverse views. Thanks for sharing your experiences. You are an outstanding writer and I wish you good luck with your visibility!
