Nervous New Student? Here’s an Idea to Coach Yourself to Success
A demo of coaching myself through start-of-semester nerves
This might be strange, but for today’s blog post I’m going to do a demonstration of a self-coaching session. Yes, I am currently a nervous new (self-taught, in my case) student, but I am equipped with techniques I learned years ago that help me translate my anxiety into clarity and confidence. I’ll show you exactly how I do it.
While I originally learned these skills to serve as a coach for others, after reviewing them recently I gained the ability to coach myself. You can develop this ability too. We all have a unique inner dialogue going on inside ourselves. There’s no reason we can’t practice a dialogue that is increasingly compassionate and helpful.
You might have clicked on this article because you yourself are a new student somewhere, or are otherwise beginning a new venture. Whatever nerves you may be feeling, perhaps you will see some of yourself reflected in me. May you gain new ideas for how you can rock the self-coaching this semester. Let’s go!
Thank you to WellCoaches School of Coaching for modeling the ways of communicating that I will be demonstrating below.
