It's like you addressed this article directly to Phoenix Huber's soul.

Seriously, I just loved everything about it. The way you slowly built up to the conversation with Mr. Strange Cat. And the funny idea of this unlikely drunken conversation with a cat couching the entire world of your empathic grief for animals and journey since going vegan.

Yes, being in an endless horror movie where only you know who the killer is, and no one wants to listen... I don't recognize enough when I am going through this, and then when someone names it the way you did it's like lightbulbs everywhere!

I loved the drag show, and I loved that you took note of that exact date you committed to veganism (I wish I knew my veganniversary day), and I loved the happy and sweet ending.

Plus the sprinkling of savory vocab words like liminal, excavated, and extraneous! XD

Reading this essay today is a lesson for me. Because as you can imagine, I was like, "How has no one clapped for this yet?!?!? This is the best article ever."

Maybe next time I write something and wonder if it's totally outlandish and whether I should just take it down when no one seems to respond, I can remember On My Recent Conversation With a Stranger About Veganism.

How it might as well have been written just for me.
