I loved reading this myth-busting article, Shruthi. :) An arranged marriage involves more collaboration between the parents and the people getting married. There are advantages to this cooperation between families that could be missing sometimes in my culture. Sometimes people get in relationships based just on physical attraction, or relationships that don't mesh well with their preexisting family lives. Despite the names, it sounds to me that a good "arranged marriage" is just as much about love as a "love marriage." ^_^
